Drink description
The Cosmo cocktail as we know it today was developed in 1985 at a bar called the Strand in South Beach, Florida by Bartender Cheryl Cook. Developed to help promote Absolut Vodka’s Citron flavor that was being tested at the time, Ms. Cook used a Kamikaze as her inspiration. The original recipe called for Rose’s Lime Juice, TripleSec & enough Ocean Spray cranberry to give it a nice, bright pink color.
As with any great cocktail, it wasn’t long before other bartenders were making their own versions of this drink. Both in New York and San Francisco, bartenders Toby Cecchini & Melissa Roth from the Odeon and Dale DeGroff from the Starlight Room, were tinkering with the concept and making their own versions of this drink. The recipes that these bartenders came up, with TripleSec & fresh lime juice, are the ones we commonly drink today.
The Cosmopolitan received a huge boost when it was New York’s turn to host the Grammy awards and Madonna was pictured enjoying the Cosmo at the Rainbow Room where Sony Music was hosting their afterparty. Then came Carrie Bradshaw…...and the rest is history.
Luxe Libations is proud to present the Chambord Cosmo. Its flavors are quite complex yet very simple to make. We trust that you’ll enjoy the Chambord Cosmo as much as we do.
Inspired by raspberry liqueur made in the Loire Valley in the late 1600s. It is said to have been introduced to Louis XIV during one of his visits to the Château de Chambord. Chambord is made from red and black raspberries, Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and cognac.
